Lol I didn't have friends other than Tweila's boyfriend Jerrod and his little brother Thomas while growing up, either. We all collected Pokemon cards profusely. I still have my old collection! haha. Never had the video game though.

Yeah. If comparing storylines and whatnot, the newer games ARE a cheap ripoff of the old ones. Basically. However, if one is battling competitively, they're all pretty unique games as the battling styles have changed every generation.

Yeah all three can connect with each other. You must remember, though, to battle or do traditional trading you have to exchange friend codes. There is a Global Trade Station in one town, but it only lets you trade for Pokemon that you have in your PokeDex.

Fire Punch was just an example. A ton of Pokemon can learn it now. And the Mystery Dungeon games DO seem a bit overdone. I haven't played them and don't plan on it. Same with Pokemon Rangers.

Oh dear god, screw Pokemon Rangers and Mystery Dungeon games. Those are spin-offs. We are taking about the main games.

Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum versions all connect via Wi-Fi for battling, trading, etc.

Online? When was this? But I can feel for the die-hard fans for the colour parts of this game series, but dungeon rescure and rangers? thats just...haha.

The major thing about newer games is the online capabilities. Trading online and battling online is just too good to pass up for me. Plus new additions, such as the separation of physical and special moves, is always a warm welcome in my book. Fire Punch should never have been a special attack. I don't care if it's fire or not. Too many pokemon, its getting quite excessive really..

Yeah it does, but you can't beat the classics really. Also the new feel kinda ruins it, its like playing an RTS on a console, really doesn't work
